How Egypt DMC Deposits, Balances and Cancellations Work

When you contract a destination management company in Egypt, three questions decide most of the commercial risk: what you pay up front, when the rest is due, and what happens if the programme changes. This guide sets out how Egypt Travel Agency (ETA) handles each one, so you can compare it with any other quote on your desk.

Key Takeaways

  • The deposit is set per programme and is non-refundable.
  • The final balance is due on a date set per programme and stated in the proposal.
  • Payment is by card or bank transfer.
  • Cancellation is free more than 65 days before departure, 50% from 61 to 65 days, and 100% at 60 days or less.
  • If a payment is late, the booking is cancelled and the deposit is forfeited.

Deposits

Every programme is built individually, so the deposit is set per programme rather than as a fixed percentage. It is stated in your written proposal, and a booking is confirmed once the agreed deposit is received. The deposit is non-refundable.

Final balance

The final balance is due on a date set per programme. That date depends on the suppliers involved and on how far ahead you book, and it is written in the proposal. See our guide to how far ahead to book an Egypt programme.

Payment methods

We accept payment by card or bank transfer. Details are confirmed with your quotation.

Late payment

If a payment is not received by its due date, the booking is cancelled and the deposit is forfeited. If you expect a delay, tell us before the due date.

Cancellation charges

Our standard charges depend on how far before departure you cancel:

  • More than 65 days before departure: no charge.
  • 61 to 65 days before departure: 50%.
  • 60 days or less before departure: 100%.

The written proposal and contract remain the reference for your programme. See the full cancellation policy and pricing and payment terms.

Questions to ask any DMC

  • On what date is the balance due?
  • Which payment methods are accepted?
  • What are the cancellation charges, and from which date do they apply?
  • Is everything in the written proposal?
