The Journey
A four-night sail up the Nile from Luxor to Aswan — roughly 230 km of river linking the greatest concentration of monuments in Egypt, at a pace built around the guest rather than the ship's timetable.
The Luxor-to-Aswan direction is deliberate. It opens with the density of ancient Thebes — Karnak and the Valley of the Kings — then eases south through the riverside temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo to the calmer water and Nubian culture of Aswan, where Abu Simbel is within reach. Private Egyptologist guiding at every site, timings set to sidestep the group peak, and a vessel matched to the brief rather than a single fixed ship.
It works as a standalone sale or as the middle section of a longer Egypt itinerary. Most partners pair it with two or three nights in Cairo before, and either Abu Simbel or the Red Sea after. The comfortable window for Upper Egypt runs October to April; summer sailings run with earlier starts and heat-aware timing. For smaller groups, the same route can run as a private dahabiya charter — typically 6 to 10 cabins rather than the 80 to 150 guests of a standard cruise ship.

Can this run as a dahabiya rather than a cruise ship?
Yes. Dahabiya sourcing and private charter is a service we operate — the route stays broadly the same but the pace is slower and the group is much smaller. Say so in your brief and we will quote both.
Do you publish prices for this programme?
No. This is a trade framework, not a retail package, and we do not publish rates that would compete with our partners. Pricing is quoted per enquiry against your brief, market and commercial requirements.

What is the best time of year to run it?
October to April is the comfortable window for Upper Egypt. Summer sailings are possible and are quoted with the heat in mind — earlier starts, adjusted timings at the temples.
Can you add Abu Simbel or Cairo?
Yes. Abu Simbel extends naturally from Aswan, and most partners add Cairo before the cruise. Both are quoted as part of the same programme.
